The Literacy Coaches Collaborative is a year-long professional development series for district teams of an administrator and one or more literacy coaches supporting teachers grades K-12. The goal is to build local capacity to lead Ohio’s Plan to Raise Literacy Achievement. District literacy teams applied and were selected in May 2021. The Literacy Coaches Collaborative Sessions will be facilitated by Olivia Weisman, and Jessica Klump, Literacy Consultants, Education Service Center of Lorain County.
Those literacy teams in attendance will:
● Lead a district or building literacy initiative
● Learn how to provide ongoing support for teachers through professional learning design, coaching conversations, assessment/data strategies, and modeling in the classroom
● Understand Dyslexia legislation and how to support teachers and
students through Ohio’s Science of Reading transition
