Description
This annual opening event for the CSE Ohio HSTW region will be focused on underachieving students and how to motivate them to be engaged in their learning. The featured presentation is titled, “Finding Their Carrot” and will include specific engagement strategies that participants will practice during the workshop and use in their classrooms.

Speaker
Todd Stanley, Gifted Coordinator, Pickerington Local Schools
Todd has been an educator for 19 years and has authored 7 teacher education books. His experience teaching in gifted programs includes teaching social studies in a high-achieving magnet program, teaching high school students in a project-based humanities program and creating an elementary gifted “pull-out” program. He has served as a district gifted coordinator for Reynoldsburg City Schools and currently as the Gifted Coordinator for Pickerington Local Schools. Todd earned an undergraduate degree at Bowling Green State University and a graduate degree at the Ohio State University. He holds a gifted education certification and an administrator license.
