Congratulations to three 2023 National Pacesetter Sites from CSE Ohio!
- Athens High School
- Green High School
- Wellston Middle School
These three sites were named 2023 National Pacesetter Sites by the Southern Regional Education Board in Atlanta and are among the schools nationwide that will receive this honor at the Making Schools Work Conference in July 2023 in Orlando, Florida.
Congratulations, Dan Leffingwell, the 2022 Ohio Superintendent of the Year!
Dan Leffingwell, superintendent of Noble Local School District, was recognized by the Buckeye Association of School Administrators (BASA) for working to create hope, access and opportunities for all students in the district. Dan was quick to acknowledge the support of the Noble Local Board of Education and the work of the faculty and staff in transforming education and the opportunities available to students.
Congratulations to Fort Frye Local Schools!
Washington County Fun Day from the Fort Frye Local School District was recognized as the Outstanding Student Program in the Ohio School Boards Association’s Southeast Region. Recognition took place at the Tri-County Career Center in Nelsonville during the Southeast region’s fall conference on September 29, 2022. Presented annually, the award recognizes the top student program from nominations received throughout the region’s 18 counties representing 84 school districts.

About the Ohio Making Schools Work CSE Region
The Central/Southeast region encompasses 25 counties in central, southern and southeastern Ohio. The regional office serves approximately 50 high schools, career centers, middle grades , community and alternative schools that are implementing or exploring the Making Schools Work school improvement framework.
Services provided for CSE Ohio schools include:

Coaching services individualized to school needs.
- Distribution of pertinent resources.
- Opportunities for sites to share and collaborate on best practices.
- Professional development onsite, regionally and virtually.
- Support for meeting deadlines and completing requirements.
The CSE region supports the statewide work of Making Schools Work by:
- Managing the www.ohiomakingschoolswork.org website.
- Maintaining a statewide database of Making Schools Work district/school contacts and related data.
- Providing brochures, posters, etc. as Making Schools Work information is revised and updated.
